This Christmas, the hubster and I decided not to buy each other gifts. The reality is that we do this every year (well we're supposed to do this every year... last year he surprised me with a diamond pendant necklace.). This year we decided that in lieu of gifts, we'd give each other dates, since, like many new parents, we're severely lacking in the dates department.
I called it the Twelve Date Project. We each had to come up with a date a month and although it would be tough for us to go on two dates a month, we'd at least have some nice ideas to run with.
I presented my dates in this little book fashion. I used Pixlr to create 12 cards and stuck them together with a ribbon. It's really small; something Mark can put in his pocket so he can remember our dates!
So there you have it! A very cool way to celebrate just being together and hanging out.
What a great idea! My husband and I are also new parents and we've tossed around the idea of a monthly date night - this is a great way to actually make it happen. Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute idea in lieu of gifts, and such a sweet presentation. I hope these come to fruition!
